Join us! It matters who owns your financial institution. When you belong as a member of St. Louis Community Credit Union, every account holder is an owner. Membership in St. Louis Community Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in St. Louis City and those in Franklin, St. Louis and St. Charles counties in Missouri; as well as St. Clair, Madison, Monroe and Jersey counties in Illinois.

Membership is also open to relatives of those eligible for St. Louis Community membership – including your spouse and children, parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and grandchildren, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, first cousins and legal guardians, as well as step, in-law and legally adoptive relationships.

To become a member of St. Louis Community, you must first establish a membership account by opening a regular savings account. The minimum deposit and balance is $1.

  • U.S. Government/State-Issued Identification: Driver’s License, State ID or U.S. Passport
  • Current Physical and Mailing Address (proof of residency may be required)
  • Social Security Number (SSN)
  • Date of Birth (DOB)

Q: Is my information secure over the internet?

A: The security of your personal information is of utmost importance to SLCCU. We maintain strict security standards to prevent unauthorized access to your information. All pages are fully encrypted with 256bit TLS encryption standard. The page and information is encrypted prior to being sent over the network, making all information provided safe and secure.
Q: Is there a minimum age requirement for completing a new account application online? 
A: Yes, the applicant and any account owners must be at least 18 years of age or older. However, if you are interested in an account for a minor, please call one of our branches for more information.

Q: What will I need to apply for membership online?

A: To speed up the application process, please have the following information on hand when you begin:

  • U.S. Government/State-Issued Identification: Driver’s License, State ID or U.S. Passport
  • Current Physical and Mailing Address (proof of residency may be required)
  • Social Security Number (SSN)
  • Date of Birth (DOB)
  • Existing debit/credit card to fund your new account

Q: Are all SLCCU products/services available to choose from when opening my account online?
A: All checking accounts are available to choose from, along with multiple types of savings products. Specifically, to open a Share Certificate or IRA, you will need to visit a branch location.

Q: Am I able to add additional products/services to my existing SLCCU account online?

A: Currently, our online account application is for NEW members only. To add additional shares or certificates, existing members will need to visit a branch. Loans and Lines of Credit can be applied for online and through the SLCCU mobile app.

Q: Can I apply if I’m not a U.S. citizen?

A: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien with a valid Social Security number (SSN) or tax identification number (TIN).

Q: Can I apply for a joint account online?

A: Yes. An account may be opened for one person (Individual Account) or for two or more people (Joint Account). 
Q: How much does it cost to open an account?
A: Just $1 (our minimum deposit and minimum balance) establishes your savings account and your share in our cooperative. Additional savings and checking accounts may have minimum deposits associated with them.
Q: How do I make my initial deposit when applying online?
A: To make your initial deposit, you will need a debit/credit card. Funds may not be immediately available in your account. 
Q: How long do I have to deposit funds in my account?
A: Your application will be incomplete, and the account will not be opened until funding has been provided. Incomplete applications are active for three days.
Q: When will I get a debit card?
A: If you selected to receive a debit card during the application process, a card will be ordered once your account has been opened. You should receive your card within seven to 10 business days.
Q: Will I have immediate access to online and mobile banking?
A: Yes, once you have received confirmation that your account is open, you can immediately enroll in online banking. You can enroll by accessing online banking through our website or by downloading the SLCCU mobile app for your mobile device. You will need your account number, SSN and DOB to enroll.
Q: Can I save my application and complete it later?
A: Yes, if you need more time, you can save what you’ve already entered for three days. To save what you have already completed, you will need to provide your email address.

Q: I submitted an application, now what?
A: Some applications are approved automatically. Applications that are not auto approved will be reviewed by a St. Louis Community Credit Union staff member. If additional information is needed, you will be contacted by email and asked to provide the necessary details. You will always receive an email with the final decision.
